      This mystery about murder and family conflict during a Carolina yuletide season is part of a popular series about a mystery bookstore. In this installment Annie comes to solve the murders that have taken place in the peculiar mansion owned by an aging actress. Reader Kate Reading's narration is more natural than theatrical. She presents characters with distinct personalities and emotions, particularly an anorexic teenager and the superannuated movie star.
