1940 FORD COUPE
Jake Perry – Westerville, Ohio 1939 Chevy Sedan • Editor’s Note: On the cover of issue 48, I ran a cover blurb stating that the ’34 Ford coupe cover car was a 70,000-mile driver. Since then, I’ve heard from several rodders stating that their cars had even more miles. Jake Perry of Westerville, OH, mentioned his ’39 Chevy sedan has 220,000 miles. I asked him to send some photos and a brief story of his car. This is the first installment of “Highway Drivers,” and I hope there will be many more. If you or a friend have some serious miles on your hot rod, please contact me at paulm@roddingusa. Tell me about your car, and maybe we can turn it into a story in a future issue of Rodding USA.
