Carpathia's forces in New Babylon are cast into utter darkness as all trace of light disappears from the abode of the Antichrist. But all is not well for Rayford Steele and his compatriots either. The Tribulation Force's aliases, and even their Strong Tower safe house have been compromised, forcing Rayford, Buck, and all the force's members to flee for their lives.

Narrator Steve Sever professionally manipulates his voice to cover a large cast of characters as they converge to become part of the battle of Armageddon, and the end of time as the world perceives it. He grips the listener while unfolding the final outcome for the beloved characters who comprise the Tribulation Force in this battle between Good and Evil. The pace is fast as the plot marches toward the "great and terrible day of the Lord." Although an abridgment, the story flows smoothly and leaves no question unanswered. Music clearly defines side breaks and marks important scenes. The epilogue is informative as the Left Behind series reaches its end. G.D.W. (c) AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine -

In the last year of the Great Tribulation, legions of the good and evil travel to the Middle East for the final battle on Earth. Not all members of the Trib Force, whom readers have followed since the beginning of the Left Behind series, will survive. Richard Ferrone returns with more enthusiasm than ever to the Revelation allegory, reprising his characterizations of its multicultural and multilingual population. This installment calls for much singing of hymns, and, despite his ability to carry a tune, Ferrone simply can't sing in the character of a woman. Still, he does pick up the pace a bit from earlier performances and maintains it to the chilling conclusion. R.P.L. 2004 Audie Award Finalist (c) AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine
