The Hangman's Noose is the third book in the Mountain Men series. A Group of legendary fur trappers, known as 'the Death wind', along with Sarah and Jamie, two young settlers they rescued in their travels, have already established a homestead on the Willamette river of the late 1820's. Their lives face many challenges, the biggest of them being the threat of a certain british officer, whose sworn, sick purpose is to destroy them. Pirates, romance, wilderness survival and team work lace this novel with barbed arrows of mystery, love, hate and death.
